RACs - call for nominations
GRFL has called for nominations for Queensland's four grains Research Advisory Committees (RACs).
RAC members help to shape the grains RD&E program in the Northern Region.
You can download an application form HERE.
Applications close 10 February 2010.
Membership term runs from February 2010 to December 2012.
Who should apply?
Grain growers - each RAC has 10 to 12 grain grower members. Retiring members can re-apply.
Other grains industry stakeholders - for instance, people involved in agribusiness, researchers,
et cetera. Each RAC has 4 to 6 industry stakeholder members.
What do the RACs do?
In just two meetings per year:
- identify Research Development and Extension ( RD&E) issues and priorities for the grain industry at regional and State levels; identify and discuss possible strategies to address those priority issues;
- enhance industry ownership of RD&E activities and projects;
- alert and inform both industry and RD&E providers and funders to changes and difficulties likely to impact on grain industry RD&E activities and projects;
- facilitate and encourage links between all stakeholders in grains research.
